Kailua-Kona covers a lot of ground and a lot of price points. Aliʻi Drive condominiums put you steps from the water, the hillside neighborhoods above town trade ocean frontage for elevation and cooler evenings, and there are established residential pockets that feel far removed from the visitor strip.
Practically speaking this is the most convenient part of the island for anyone who travels. Kona International is close, and the shopping, medical, and services base is the deepest on the west side.
